Karoly the shooter

           

             This story is about 1938, and a man named Karoly. He was Hungarian's best pistol shooter. Any national championships that happened in that country were all won by him, and everyone in the country was sure that he would win the 1940's Olympics gold medalist. He trained for years for this one moment. He had only one dream and that was to become the best shooter in the world and he almost accomplished that. In 1938 there was an army training camp and he went there because he was in the army. Then an accident happened, a hand grenade blew up in his right hand. The hand he wished to hold a gold medal. The hand was now gone. All the focus and his dream were all done. He had two options, one to cry his whole life or to fulfill the goal that he focused on. He didn't focus on what he has lost but instead on the other hand that he had. This was the type of hand that he was not even able to write with. For a month he had stayed in the hospital to get better. Right after that one month, he started his training for the left hand. He trained for one year and came back meaning 1939. There was a national championship happening in Hungary and there were many other best shooters. One of the shooters recognized him and said- " This is the spirit of sportsmanship, even after all these incidents you came here to support and encourage us". No one knew that he was training his left hand for almost a year. Karoly then said that he didn't come to encourage but instead to compete with them. To fight with them, and told him to get ready. The competition happened, everyone was competing with their best hand but Karoly was competing with his only hand. Who Won? The man with the only hand- Karoly, but now he didn't stop here. He had a clear goal and focused on making his hand not only the best in his country but also in the whole world. He put all his focus on 1940 when the Olympics were going to be held. But unfortunately, the Olympics got canceled because of world war. He then put all his focus on the 1944's Olympics. The 1944's Olympics also got canceled due to world war. Now he put all this focus on the 1948's Olympics. In 1938 he was 28 years and in 1948 he became 38 years. It gets harder and harder for older to compete with youngers. But he had now such word known as hard in his dictionary. He then went. Best shooters from all over the world came to compete with their best hand. But Karoly had competed with his only hand. Who won? The man with the only hand- Karoly. He still didn't stop there, but instead, he competed in the 1952's Olympics. He competed again. And who Won? Karoly. He changed the whole history. Before him, no shooter won the gold medal twice in the competition. If you go near a loser then he will have a list of reasons why he was not able to do something. On the other hand, If you go near a winner he will have one reason why he needs to do it and he will do it.
